I’m still in search of a smart lock and garage door openers to expand my current home and was wondering if, in general, it’s safe to assume that if any given product is SmartThings or Zwave or Alexa compatible that it will work with HA. There are growing choices in hardware out there and it’s sometimes hard to figure out.
Given the expanding choices of ‘smart-this’ and ‘smart-that’ in the home center stores, it’s hard to know what works, and what doesn’t.
For those products that are Google-ized, Amazon’ed, or Smart-Thing’ed, is there a way to use them without having to go through their servers? I’m always keen on privacy issues.
