Safest way to expose home assistant to iOS app?

Can we access .onion (tor hidden service) in the BETA iOS app ? NOTE : I noticed “Use internal URL” under advanced settings in the app. Made me wonder what that’s for.

If not, what is the safest way to expose the hassio instance to the web ? and obviously supported by the iOS app ?

Thanks !

does anyone know or have any recommendations ? If tor is not supported for IOS app, is there a best practice for lowest risk solution to exposing hassio to the web ?

I use a reverse proxy (Caddy), ssl and the new HA auth with 2FA. Also expose only a high numbered port for HA.

Does this setup work with the ios app ?

Yes it works perfectly

Did you use this unofficial hassio caddy addon?

And by high port , do you mean for example open port 99999 on the proxy which then points to 8123 locally ?

Finally , for 2FA, did you use the TOTP?

Thanks , just trying to use a formula that someone already has working safely.

Yes that one.
I mean 3xxxxx as high port
I use TOTP as well as a notification on my iPad so I can select either totp or notification. Either work.

I did do a blog post on how to set this up here.
