Hi,
Now I’m still testing, but the plan is to have a Box-S3 voice satellite in each room, so that we are able to control things wih our voice. Question is: how to set the same couple of aliases to different entities in various rooms ?
Example 1:
I have electric window shutter (cover) in each room. I would like to say in my language ssomething equivalent to: “Close the shutters” and this should be applicable only in that specific room where the HA voice satellite is. But I would like to be able to say also something equivalent to: “Close the covers” (so a second alias for the same thing) and to work in the same way only in the room I’m speaking. But If I say: “Close the shutters in the bedroom” then it should work for the bedroom no matter the room I’m speaking in.
Example 2:
I have a ceiling light which I treat a little bit different, and it exists in every room. I would like the same aliases for ceailing lights to work in all rooms.
It is tricky, because what if you say close the covers in one room and then both a satelitte in that room and in two other rooms hear it.
Should it then close in all three?
If you make a “cool down” to avoid multiple triggers, then the same action can not be done simultaneously in multiple room, like your wife and you try to trun on the light in two different rooms.
For this to work you would need a person identification too, which is still not supported.
The different aliases makes no difference for the setup. If it can do one, then it can do multiple.
The big issue is that turn on the light today will turn on all the lights in HA because there was no area specified. So you have a conflict with your goal there.
noob here, can you somehow check for audio levels from the microphones and only use the one with the strongest level, ie the room you actually are in?
Or has any new smart solutions popped up now in October 24?
I would love to have just “turn on ceiling” as a general command
