Hi all.
Specific question so not holding out much hope…
I have a Samsung Q950A soundbar. Naturally it integrates well with SmartThings which is great as I have a ST Hub. Whilst it has a remote, the most advanced features are only in the ST app.
I’ve been moving away from ST over the last 6 months to HA (been using HA Green, using ZigBee, Z-Wave, Matter and if course WiFi), but for a few small use cases I still need the ST Hub and platform… This Q950A is one of main reasons!
I’ve got the integration setup between HA and ST fine, and I can see the soundbar as a device and I get a few basic entities, things like power and volume. However more advanced features such as “night mode”, “sound mode” etc just aren’t exposed.
Is there a way around this anyone can think of around this limitation? Interestingly (and making it more unlikely) there’s no way of performing any automation for any of these entities / settings even within ST itself…
I did create a virtual switch (helper) in ST, thinking of creating ST “routines” (automations) to do the soundbar tasks, and then in my HA automations simply flip the ST virtual switch. But as I can’t even automate tasks in ST clearly won’t work.
Assuming this is literally impossible if the entities in question aren’t even beikg presented…?
Anyone else in a similar situation?
Thanks,
Steve
