I’ve got a Home Assistant instance running in a docker container in Windows WLS2. I also have a Samsung Q60 series TV with LED strips mounted on the back and Hyperion running on a RPi. I’ve added the Samsung Smart TV integration, and have found my Q60 series TV and added it to Home Assistant. I’ve also added the Hyperion integration, and I’m able to control the LED lights fine.
I now want to add an automation that turns Hyperion LED lights on and off when turning the TV on and off. But even though I can see the media_player entity on the dashboard and I’m able to adjust volume and such, I’m not able to trigger an automation on the TV switching power state. Why is this? Do I need any special port settings for receiving this?
In threads I’ve seen on forums they talk about port 8001 and 8002, and I’ve forwarded both in the docker container settings. But the TV power state is still not being fed back to Home Assistant when manually controlling the TV using the remote.
Any tips here would be greatly appreciated!
