Scenes not showing up on iOS Google Home app

Hi!

I have an Android phone linked to a Google Home, and my Home Assistant correctly linked using the Google Home app. I have set a lot of custom Routines to interact with hass, and it works really well.

My wife has an iPhone. I added her to our “home” via the Google Home app more than a year ago, and she was able to create routines too and has been using them ever since.

A few weeks ago, I updated Home Assistant to the latest version and asked Google Home to “synchronize my devices”. From that point on, everything works on my Android phone, but scenes are not available in my wife’s iPhone anymore.

Here is some information:

  • I have the Nabu Casa subscription
  • The hassio account is linked to my personal google account
  • My wife is invited to my “home” and she can see all configured switches and lights, but she has no scenes available when trying to create a routine (please see attached screenshot)
  • Everything works ok on my Android phone and I can see the scenes correctly
  • Home Assistant, Google Home, her phone and all of the apps are updated to the latest version
  • The iPhone has both Google Home and Google Assistant apps installed
  • It was working before
  • I tried removing her from the “home” and adding her back, but no luck
  • I tried reinstalling the Google Home app in the iPhone, but still no luck

I don’t want to sync the hassio account to her phone via the Google Home app because it is already synced with mine and I don’t know if it will make a mess.

Do you have any advice about this?

P.S.: There is “Google Home” and “Google Assistant”, and this project is called “Home Assistant” which makes really difficult to google something and also to read a post like this.

Thanks!

Edit - Solved
For anyone else with the same issue (Manual setup only, not through Nabu Casa) - I was able to resolve by READING THE HOME ASSISTANT INSTRUCTIONS

Scroll down and you’ll see the subtitle “Allow Other Users” which walks you through the steps if you did the “Manual” setup.

Same issue here. Just set up google home integration via the Google Actions / Google Cloud API service account etc (different than the Nabu Casa subscription), but getting the same issue.

Goggle home integration working great on my Android phone, can see all my devices and can access Home Assistant scenes and execute them within Google Home routines. My wife has been added to my Google Home and can see all of my devices, but cannot see any of my scenes so she can’t run the same routines.

Any thoughts as to why scenes would show up in google home on my google home app, but not on hers?

Appreciate any help!

Thanks!

this doesnt solve it when using nabu casa.
i have the same situation. followed the nabu instructions and everything is working apart from scenes on the iphone google home app.
you can still say “hey google, ACTIVATE -script-” but its nicer to add a google home routine of same name that runs the script (labelled as scene in google home).
Then you can say “hey google, movie time”

Hi!

I also have run into the same issue.

  • Nabu Casa subscription
  • Wifes phone is iOS, Mine is Android.
  • I have a household routine in google home to activate the home assistant scene
  • Routine fires correctly for myself
  • Wifes phone has the routine visible but the action is blank for her.
  • Wifes phone has home assistant app and user account, all loaded on her phone.

Anyone found a workaround for this or way to fix the scene visibility on google home for iOS?

Thanks!
