Hello,
I am notified by HA as soon as someone rings the doorbell.
Now I need a finger command to activate the door opener.
I have already tried 2:
One with Bluetooth (Cubetouch II) another one with Zigbee via zigbee2mqtt.
I couldn’t get the Bluetooth bot to work properly with HA. It was recognized via the Tuya BLE integration, but the finger reacted much too late (sometimes minutes later). Strangely enough, it worked without any delay via the Tuya app. Bluetooth adapter and fingerbot were about 3m apart.
The Zigbee fingerbot worked so-so for about 5 months. The response time was fast, but it often happened that it did not press the door opener switch all the way down, which kept the door locked. This problem occurred constantly towards the end (despite changing the ice settings in z2m). Also, I can’t even pair it with z2m or the tuya app anymore.
Does anyone have an alternative for a fingerbot with a fast response time?
Switchbot is currently available on Amazon, but it’s only bluetooth.
All you really need is a relay with a dry contact, something like the Shelly 1 (WiFi) or Aqara T2 (ZigBee). Even a small esp board with an optocoupler will do the job.
Hook it up to the contacts for the door opener and you won’t need to worry about the button not being fully pushed
Yeah thanks shadow, but I think I need more guidance regarding relays.
I was thinking about this before I installed the fingerbots, but I couldn’t find a way to use the shelly.
Below the switch, I only have 12V which turned out problematic.
Is there Any solution for that?
do you think this would work:
MHCOZY 2 Kanal 5V 12V ZigBee Trockenkontakt Relais Schalter, einstellbarer Selbstsperr und Momentanverriegelungs Arbeitsmodus, funktioniert mit Alexa Google Home : Amazon.de: Baumarkt
Yep, that should work. The shelly 1 I mentioned earlier also supports 12v, so that’s another option for you
