I am searching for a smart wall switch. We have hue lights, which should be controllable via app, alexa and a wall switch. Currently we are just using the hue remotes, which consume batteries. A shelly is not an option because the wiring compartments behind the switches are too small for them.
There are lots of smart wall switches which are compatible to tasmota, for example this one: APPIO 1 Gang Switch Switch (9608) Configuration for Tasmota
The problem is: In our apartment, as usual in lots of german apartments, the wall switches next to the door are usually combined with a socket, like this:
The generic smart wall switches do not fit here, since their base plate is way bigger than the base plate of the regular switches in this combination.
I saw that there are already some combined switches on the market like this one
Has someone already have some experience with these? I am especially interested in the dimensions and distance between the wiring terminals on the back. Do they fit into the wiring compartments which are already present in my walls?
Presence of neutral wire isn’t a problem, our apartment has a modern cable setup and they are present everywhere. Can i configure these switches to not touch the electrical connection to the bulbs at all but rather send a message via MQTT to the Home Assistant which then decides if the lamp goes on or not?
