But when I add a button card to my dashboard, it takes up two grid units:
How were those narrow buttons achieved?

Wondering what theme that is. Looks so much nicer than the default UI we ended up getting
A button with “Snow name” turned off in its config will have the height of 1 unit. (You probably know this, but for the benefit of future readers.)
