I want to trigger an action with an RF remote securely. By securely, I mean that replay attacks should not be possible, which calls for rolling codes.
Assuming that shared secrets of premade remotes, such as this remote, are unavailable, I’d think I can’t use the Remote Receiver component of ESPHome and have to use the GPIO Binary Sensor component with the receiver provided with the remote instead.
Or can I? I’m wondering how this “433MHz Copy Remote Control Rolling Code Duplicator” works.
Please let me know if I’m missing anything regarding encryption or the available options.
