Seeking Assistance for EPIC Digital Lock 7G Integration with Home Assistant

Hello everyone,I’m currently trying to integrate my EPIC Digital Lock 7G with Home Assistant and I’m having some difficulties. The lock offers both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and can be controlled via the EPIC App. However, the app doesn’t provide third-party integration, which makes it challenging to link the lock with Home Assistant. The Wi-Fi connection is linked to a thumb drive, and I believe the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) functionality is built into the lock. I’ve been searching for information on the EPIC brand and its compatibility with Home Assistant, but so far, I’ve come up empty.I’m wondering if anyone has had any success in integrating this lock (or a similar one) with Home Assistant? Here are some specific questions I have:

  1. Is it possible to reverse engineer the communication protocol between the lock and the EPIC App for Wi-Fi integration? If so, how complex is this process and is it maintainable with app and lock firmware updates?
  2. Could BLE integration be a more feasible option, given that Home Assistant has built-in support for Bluetooth devices? If so, would this still require reverse engineering the communication protocol?
  3. Are there any other methods or workarounds to control the lock from Home Assistant that I might not be aware of?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

This is not a blueprint problem, you are looking for integration with new hardware.
I suggest changing the topic to hardware and you will get eyes more prepared for your problem.
