Seeking the Best Alexa Integration Method for Home Assistant

Hello community,

I’d like to ask about the best Alexa integration method. It’s been a while since there’s been much discussion on this topic, especially with the many new integration options available. I currently have a Nabu Casa subscription, which I find is a great way to support the awesome work the community is doing, but I’m not fully satisfied with the integration. The need for many helpers to create automations in Home Assistant and the lack of smooth automation setup in the Alexa app is frustrating for me.

I’ve tried the Node-RED method, and I’ve seen options like Emulated Hue and Matter for connecting, but are there any other methods? What’s the best one to use, and why? Ideally, I’d prefer a method that doesn’t depend on my Nabu Casa subscription.

I do not use Alexa, but I think Matter is really the best solution today, especially because you do not have to open ports to the internet.

There are a Matter bridge available to HA that can make HAs none Matter devices available to Matter.
