I have a very old garage opener which doesn’t allow connecting any wired device such as relais, switch…
As I just learned that it is homelink compatible, I guessed whether there is a sender which is able to learn these signals (like the mirror in my car) and which I can connect directly via Zigbee/Z-Wave or with a relais.
Has someone ever hear about such a thing?
Coincidentally, I am getting ready to install a Meross MSG200 to my garage opener. I have a very old Craftman model that is not listed in the Meross compatibility list. I am told that it might work because when I tested by shorting the wires that go from the button on the wall to the motor, the garage door opened.
The plan is to tie the Meross control leads to the same screws as the wires from my wall button.
I did a “table top” test of the Meross controller and it works fine with HA. So I am confident that it has a good chance of working.
Edit: my Meross MSG200 is Wifi
Looks cool - unfortunately my opener doesn’t allow any wired controlling, only radio…
