Sengled and Linkind MultiColor WiFi bulbs that support Matter

I purchased a Sengled WiFi bulb that supports Matter. No problem adding it to the HA Matter integration. When creating scenes and using those scenes in an automation the bulb rarely did what it was supposed to do (maybe 1 out of 30 times it would work properly within an automation).

Since then I purchased Linkind (Aidot) WiFi bulbs that support Matter and (at least so far) they work as expected in HA scenes and automation.

Problem must be with Sengled bulb

Hi everyone,

I’ve also been experiencing issues with Sengled WiFi bulbs (Matter-supported). While they integrate into HA without problems, they rarely respond correctly in scenes or automations.

Interestingly, my Yeelink WiFi bulbs and even Zigbee lamps work flawlessly in the same scenes, so the issue seems specific to Sengled WiFi bulbs.

Has anyone found a solution or workaround for this?

Thanks in advance!

I found I had to use the bulb’s entity rather than the device - the device seemed to work, and HA showed the bulb as on even though it wasn’t on.

Could be an issue in HA or with the device.

@patmans Thanks for the tip. I had to keep resetting my Sengled Matter bulbs on Level to 254 from the default 255 to use the device. The bulb changes back to 255 if power is cut to the bulb. At which point turning it on results in no light.
