Sensor for "audio played with any media player"

In the Home Assistant Companion App for Android, is there any sensor available which tells me that any media (video or audio) is played on any media player?

Example: I would like to create an automation, where all my media players in the apartment are muted

  • during a call
  • or when audio is played with any media player

The app provides sensors from your phone, it sounds like you are asking about media players in home assistant and not from your phone.

Hello @dshokouhi,

no I am not asking about sensors from my media players. I only want to control my physical media players at home. But I want to react on the movile phone’s sensor(s).

It would be great to have a phone sensor like this - just for my Android phone: AVM FRITZ!Box Call Monitor - Home Assistant

This sensor is able to tell me if the phone is called, someone is talking, etc. In addition it would be great if the sensor could tell me if some media is played or an audio/video is recorded.

Background: In all of those situations I can react at home and switch all physical media players on mute.

Spend sometime reading the docs to discover all you can do. There is even a media session sensor.
