I thought I would use an Aqara vibration sensor for checking if my garage door is in motion. However the sensor isn’t really sensitive enough, it seems more designed for rough jolts.
Any idea of a sensor that would do the job on a slow moving garage door?
I can think of a few but it depends on what your hardware/protocol requirements are.
zwave/zigbee/wifi/etc?
Ideally im after zigbee.
I have a mains power meter (zigbee) on the way that may be able to do the job anyway. But it would be handy to have a good movement sensor if you know of any?
Why not use a tilt sensor. that’s exactly what they are made for.

Didn’t think to use a tilt sensor as I have a roll up style roller door. But I could put that on the metal bar that rotates!
