Sensor: Historical Energy Cost and Usage, Forecast Cost and Usage

Hello Everybody,

I am new to this forum and to homassistant. For this topic I used the search option but did not really find what I was looking for.

I do have a couple Tasmota powerplugs and a Shelly 3em to measure the power consumption in my home.

What I would like to do, is to represent the following data for each of the sensors on the dashboard of HA.

  1. Energy used since beginning of the year (or since a specific date and time)
  2. Total energy forecast until end of the year
  3. Cost this year since begining of the year (or since a specific date and time)
  4. Total cost forecast until end of the year

I guess this involves some access to historical data and some calculation. Can anyone please point me into the right direction how to achieve something like this.

Have you added those to the Energy dashboard yet? That’s where you should start. Energy forecast isn’t a feature of Home Assistant yet and that is a tall order.

I usually do not like to wait for someone to implement it for me but I rather would like to implement it on my own as e.g. a sensor and by calculating the data myself. I am just lacking the knowledge at the moment.
