Sensor Power not Zero When Off

Not sure if this is a third party integration issue or a device specific issue. I have several of these smart outlets and am trying to track how much power they use. The issue I am having is that when the outlet is off (not unavailable or disconnected, but not providing power) the power value retains it’s last value instead of going to zero. Added an image, you can see clearly when the device is off, vs when it it powering (a light in this case).

How can I deal with this situation, it seems common across devices using this integration (tuya) as well as the wall outlets I have that use matter.

That seems like either a hardware problem or an integration problem. But if you want a solution you can implement yourself, you can create a template sensor that sets the value to zero when the state is off.

mekanech’s solution is a good one for that hardware issue.
Just remember that if you want to really monitor the electricity usage, then the smart plug will still use a bit when it is off.
You might be able to measure that with a multimeter or another smart plug with metering to get the correct idle value.
