Setup default dashboard for user (not admin)

With the new lovelace changes in 0.107, I created a new dashboard page for mobile. As admin, I can go to Configuration -> Lovelace Dashboards -> click on the dashboard and Set As Default on this Device.

But if the user isn’t an admin, they don’t have Configuration to do this.

Ya I’ve been a bit confused on how the multiple dashboards are supposed to work. Its a new feature so I expect it will take some time to mature. Since I only have a few users I created an Everything board as a replacement for Overview and then turned Overview into my mobile friendly board.

For all the other devices like home phone, wall panel, etc I just log in as admin, pick a default dashboard, logout, log back in as the “home” user.

This isn’t the most ideal setup but it works for now.

Good idea, having the mobile the default will suffice for now.

I don’t know if you’ve found this already or not, but the default dashboard can be set by non-admin users through their user profile. They can select any of the dashboards that are visible to them. This works through the website as well as the mobile apps.

Can I prevent acccess to the default (auto) dashboard for specific users?

I would also like to know this.
Don’t think you can do user specific, but Admin vs non admin might be an option.

Any changes made to the User screen don’t persist across devices. The user management is mostly useless.
