Setup of platform tplink is taking longer than 60 seconds. Startup will proceed without waiting any longer

Just bought a TP-Link HS100 & HS110, wanted to connect them to home assistant, but they were not found by home assistant.
With manual setup I get the following error: Setup of platform tplink is taking longer than 60 seconds. Startup will proceed without waiting any longer.

With discovery enabled: Discovered 0 tp-link smart home device(s)

My config:

tplink:
  discovery: false
  switch:
    - host: 192.168.2.192
    - host: 192.168.2.193

Would be grateful for any help.

I’ve had this happen before, I had to cycle the power on the TP link device that wasn’t found, then restart HA, and the error seems to vanish.

Do you have discovery enabled or fixed IP config?
For me it doesn’t seem to work even after the restart.

Figured out, that the issue was caused by the local network setup…home assistant is running on the core network, tp-link devices on a “guest” network configured in my rotuer for smart devices, which was isolated from the core.

glad you got it working, I have discovery enabled, and using DHCP reserved addresses for my TP link devices.
