Shelley Dimmer 2 with existing LED downlights, versus completely new E27/GU10 smart globes?

Hi,

My apartment has dimmable LED downlights in the ceiling. I’m trying to integrate these with HomeAssistant.

The LED model is a SAL Wave S9065TC 9W. They plug directly into 2-prong mains outlets in the ceiling cavity - each light has it’s own ~ 100mm hole for the downlights. The 9W led is 800 lumens, but there’s also a 12W model, that goes to 1350 lumens.

Option 1 - I wire up a Shelley Dimmer 2 to each LED downlight.

Option 2 - I replace the existing LED downlights with smart globes e.g. IKEA TRÅDFRI E27 1000 lumens globe, or Shelley Duo GU10, or Sonoff B02/B05 E27 bulbs. I assume I will need some kind of adapter plate to cover the larger hole in the ceiling, and provide a E27 or GU10 socket from a 2-prong mains plug.

What do you guys think of the two options? Any pros/cons to either one?

And is there going to a noticable difference in the light going from the LED downlight to a E27 globe?

And if I go for option 2, what are my options for converting a 2-prong mains to a GU10 or E27 socket?
