I setup a Shelly one 1 and had it working in their app to control my garage door. I guess I screwed up by setting a static IP and broke it?!
I had a DHCP reservation but it was not talking. When I set the static IP (different from the original), everything just dropped off.
Now I have a Shelly 1 that is not on the network, and I don’t know if it is dead or if it is somewhere in lala land. I can see voltage on the terminals, but I can not switch anything, and because I told it to disconnect bluetooth and the embedded SSID I can not connect to it.
The docs seem to think that I can get to the app and do it from the cloud app. Without it connected to anything, that is impossible. I see the MAC address, but it is in a deauth loop with my wifi. I need to factory reset this thing so I can start over.
How do I factory Reset a Shelly 1?!
Thanks to anyone who responds… I will buy you a beverage of your choice.
I think you just press the reset button on the back for more than 10s. It should go back to factory settings and you will need to set it up again from new.
When you say “on the back,” does it require to pry open the case, because the only thing on the back of the case is a sticker. I did not want to pry open the case because I always seem to break the retention tabs.
I have seen some posts stating that their switches just need to be cycled 5 times, but I have tried that and it did not work. Still searching for the solution. The manual is pretty useless for troubleshooting? [sigh]
Most Shelly devices can be reset with the procedure described here.
(1) Disconnect the power from the Shelly by turning off a breaker or other means.
(2) Restore power.
(3) Within the first minute, toggle a switch connected to the “SW” input on the Shelly 5 times on/off (10 total) or press and release momentary button 5 times.
You may need to wire this at a bench to make this easier.
