Shelly 1 for garage opener help

Hi all. I finally gave up on MyQ and decided to do a fully local replacement using a shelly1 following the instructions on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEZUxXNiERQ

I wired it all up and it’s working correctly for the most part. The only part that is not working is that I can’t monitor the state of the door in Home Assistant.

I did wire the reed switch and in the shelly app it does show the state changing, but I’m not seeing a way to get that state change into homeassistant.

It occurs to me that the shelly 1 does have URL actions which I guess would trigger a call to an URL on different events, so I’m thinking it should be possible to update a sensor in homeassistant by putting an URL on these fields, but I have no idea what that URL should look like.

Any help here would be appreciated.

Might be worth doing it in ESPHome instead. Had mine setup that way for a very long time. Just do a Google search and you’ll find tons of tutorials (plus it’s an easy/good first ESPHome project).

Thanks all. I ended up finding the input sensor which will indicate the state of the reed switch. After more testing, I ended up reading the state of this sensor to determine if the door is open or closed.
