Shelly 2PM gen 4 detached input on Zigbee

Hi,

I have a Shelly 2PM gen 4 device. Unlike earlier generation Shelly devices, the Gen 4 devices have Zigbee connectivity in addition to WiFi. I have the 2PM device connected to HA both via Zigbee (Zigbee2MQTT) and via WiFi.

One feature of Shelly devices that I really like and use a lot, is that one can detach the inputs. This means that the state of the output does not directly change when the input changes state. This is a really powerful concept. I use it to keep my (Zigbee) smart bulbs powered all the time, but still be able to control them via the normal light switches. With a Shelly 2PM I can measure their usage as a bonus, and I’m still able to switch them, which comes in handy whenever I need to (re)pair them to the Zigbee network.

As said, I have connected my new 2PM gen 4 device both via Zigbee and via WiFi. However, there is a difference between the two integrations. In the WiFi version, I see both the outputs (as switch devices) and input (as sensors) in HA.The Zigbee-connected version shows up as MQTT device (since I’m using Zigbe2MQTT), but only shows two switches for the outputs. I can’t see the sensors for the inputs.

Did someone manage to get the inputs show up as sensors, just as it works when connected over WiFi?

The missing inputs issue has been reported since March. Only Shelly can add support for them and they seem to be taking their time (though this reddit thread hints they are aware of the issue).

I suggest you follow the advice linked in both threads above and contact support for an update.

EDIT: should be close to being released now. According to this, it’ll be out in firmware 1.8

Thanks, @ShadowFist. I did search the forum before posting, I’m wondering why I didn’t find that topic. Anyway, I’ll keep an eye on the Shelly changelog!
