I ended up returning the RC Button because I couldn’t get it to work. Now I’ve got a BLU Wall Switch 4—and had the same issue. 
Turns out the fix was simple: I just had to enable “Passive Scanning” in the Bluetooth adapter settings in Home Assistant. Now it works perfectly!
