Shelly Button Tough 1 doesn't show up in HA

I bought a Shelly BLU “Button Tough 1” and have it connected with one of my Shelly Plus 2PM switches in the Shelly app.

I have my Shelly 2PM integrated in Home Assistant and can control it just fine, I was expecting the button to be discovered in HA as I have the Shelly Plus Bluetooth enabled (and confirmed in the app), but the button does not appear in my Home Assistant.

To be clear, my Home Assistant server is not bluetooth connected, the BLU button is connected with my Shelly Plus switch. The Shelly Plus is connected via wifi with my HA server.

I was under the impression the button would show up in Home Assistant, am I wrong?

I’ve been researching this topic online for the last couple of hours but only finding irrelevant or (seemingly) outdated topics.

You need to configure your gen2+ devices as bluetooth proxy Shelly - Home Assistant

Shelly BLU series devices (e.g. Shelly BLU H&T) are not supported; please use BTHome integration to configure such devices with Home Assistant

I already tried adding BTHome to my HA setup but got the “No devices found on the network” error when adding the BTHome integration.

Edit: for my Shelly Plus 2PM I have Bluetooth + RPC enabled, is there another setting I’m missing in the Shelly software?

Have you read the Bluetooth support section in the documentation I linked to?

see Multiple Bluetooth proxies - #4 by jhol-byte as well

Somehow I overlooked the bluetooth setting in HA, the button shows up now, thank you!
