I have a Home Alarm that uses a momentary contact to arm and disarm it. I’m using a Shelly Plus 1 set to “Detached” mode with the relay being controlled as a momentary button to accomplish this. Then I’m feeding the contacts from a second relay that closes when the alarm is on. Right now the Home Alarm device is working fine but the status labelling is my concern. When the alarm is off the status box shows “Button up” and I would like it to show “Off” or “Alarm Off”. When the alarm is on it first shows “Button down” then changes to “Long press” and I would like it to show “On” or “Alarm On”. I’m sure there is a way to edit an YAML file to accomplish this but I have been unable to find it. Thanks for any help you can give me!
Another reason I’m asking for help with this. I have set up my Meross devices using Meross LAN. Most of my Meross switches show up as outlets in HA even though the model name is right. They all show up as switches in the Meross app.
I know I probably shouldn’t be putting my Meross issues in the same topic but I think the solution to these labeling issues is related.
