Shelly EM great out of the box but then FAIL!

man im getting really frustrated with this and i am hoping some calm and rational person can help. shelly tech support did not seem to have good advice so i am lost. i bought a shelly em with two 120a clamps. set it up as instructed, took about 10 minutes, boom! works great. my home assistant saw it and soon i was marveling at the amps/watts i was pulling running my air conditioner in texas. great news for about a week. then it dropped wifi and wouldnt come back on… so i followed all the forum posts, set my wifi to fixed channel, static lease, different authentication, reboot everything in order, in backward order, in alphabetical order, in numeric order and nothing. so i wrote to tech support and said that i had followed posts and instructions and no luck. so they promptly sent me a list of the same instructions.

i have $3 ESP chips that have been on the wifi for months with no problem. the shelly em is the ONLY device with problems.

this is my log

and it just goes on and on. any other ideas besides rebooting again and again in order?

You said Wifi went out, are you doing dhcp? I have my Shelly set with static IP and with my HA-Yellow and my Ecobee Thermostat, the rest is allowed to be dhcp.

yeah sorry those are vague troubleshooting words. one day i noticed that the shelly was not reporting energy and was grayed out in home assistant so i started trying to get it connected. i rebooted, i assigned it a static lease at my router, and then i went down the road of rebooting everything. are you suggesting that i set the ip address in the shelly itself? i dont even know how to reset the thing to defaults but im sure i could look it up. that might be the one thing i havent tried!

You be able to sign directly into the Shelly em with your phone and the Shelly App. You would use the ID/PW that you setup prior to doing anything in HA.

I am also having this issue, 8 years later, using a ShellyEM and a OpenWRT router.
