Hi there,
I own about 30 Shelly Gen 2 devices, connected via WIFI and shelly integration. I also have some BLU devices, integrated via BTHome. So far so good.
I am not sure if it is good for my wifi network when it is overloaded with so many shellys, so is there a chance to turn off wifi and integrate them via Bluetooth?
I guess, they can not be integrated via BTHome, right? What BT gateway is recommended? Can the Gen2 devices act as gateways?
If your WiFi is stable, you are using 2.4Ghz for IOT and all other wireless communication over 5Ghz, you might leave it that way but it all depends on your specific situation.
OTOH: I started using zigbee because I didn’t want to use my WiFi for my HA devices.
TBH, I’m not very well informed about BT & HA and I just recently started to use it.
It seems though that Shelly Gen 2 devices are BT capable so I guess you can switch them to BT.
About the GW: what do you use right now to connect those BLU devices and can’t you use that one as well to test with one of your WiFi devices.
I use Fritzbox 7690 and everything is stable right now. It’s just to study how to use the gen2 devices only with BT and if there ist any advantage when doing so.
For the Blu devices I use one Shelly gen2 as gateway. But can I use this also for other gen2 devices? I tried without success. And I think BTHome is different from Bluetooth, right?
