Same here.
I’m using Shelly1 and I have an automation that trigger when the switch is “turned on”. Works like a charm.
Now I want to use Shelly i3 just because I really do not need the relay as my lights are hard wired and always on. However, in the automation, only thing I can see are the “single click”, “double click” etc. Not an “On”, “Off”, or “Toggle” states.
The device can be configured to “Toggle” switch, not just “Momentary”, so I guess it should be possible to use it with simple On/Off switches, not just “push buttons”.
Anyone, please?
Thank you.
Hey @richieframe,
thank you for the response. I was not able to see those entities even if I configured the Input s Toggle. Anyway, I tried to remove and add the device again, as I changed the Input type from Momentary to Toggle only after it was already added to HA. I have configured 1st and 3rd Inputs as Toggle and left 2nd as Momentary and this is what I get:
Your “powered” and “not powered” triggers are exactly what I’m trying to achieve… Is there anything else I have to set up, please?
Thank you.
Ah! Got it. I have to manually enable that Entity.
Ok, thank you. Another question would be, whether I can have both behaviors at the same time: to be able to trigger actions based on the ON and OFF states as long as on the Single click, Double click etc.
Thank you.
in home assistant i can see only the input 1 of the shelly i3, but not the other inputs. they are not even among the disabled entities. do i need to “activate” them somehow?
They need to be enabled on the i3’s configuration outside of HA
how do i enable them? i don’t see any difference in the settings of the channels in the shelly webui.
this is (one of) the entity(ies) i can’t see in HA:
click in the shelly logo, then the config options for each input are available, it is not the best UI
looking at it for an hour at least already, no idea what should i click. been everywhere, cannot see any enable option (clicking the power button next to the input does nothing)
edit: turns out the input show up only if you actually have a switch connected to it and i had improper contact in the switch.
edit2: nope, the second input still does not show up in home assistant, despite seeing in the shelly ui that the input is activated…
I actually do not have a switch connected to input 3, and it still shows up in HA, did you try reloading the integration?
several times. removing and readding the device
How did you get the single, double, and triple-click trigger? Did you guys create webhooks for each in HA and then use the Actions in the i3?
I got it. If you set the Button Type in the Shelly UI to Momentary the Triggers will show as single, double, triple etc. If the Button Type is set to Toggle the Entities in Home Assistant must be enabled manually in the HA Integration and then you get powered and not powered Triggers. Took me a bit to figure that out.
@IngoS11 exactly.
regarding my original problem, it was probably a hardware issue as my shelly i3 died soon after. for the replacement device i can see all buttons in home assistant when configured as a toggle switch and enabled in HA
I have exactly the same issue. I use the standard Shelly integration within Home Assistant (not the ShellyForHass integration).
I’ve changed the BUTTON TYPE from Momentary to Toggle Switch. After this, I reloaded the integration and a 5th entity_id was created. This new entity_id (sensor) is in fact only showing a status of ON/OFF (as expected of course because of the Toggle setting). The problem still is that I’m not able to see/get the single/double/tripple/long click status.
Does anyone know how to get the single/double/tripple/long click status?
You need to listen for the event shelly.click
Nothing happens when listening to shelly.click. Also changed the BUTTON TYPE back to Momentary again, but no events are raised.
You are right, in Toggle mode, they appeared. This is really strange.
