Shelly Plus 1 (Garage) opens when HA reboots

Hi everyone,

after searching a lot on the internet and nothing helped so far I was wondering if someone could help me here?

I have a Shelly Plus 1 as Garage Door Opener which opens when Home Assistant gets restarted. This behaviour is really weird and should not happen.

On the Shelly I said, that it is a switch and it should be “off” when triggered.

I added everything via the shelly integration. Works great, but the reboot is a real problem.

Thanks in advance

Do you have automations that control it? If so post them.

No automations yet. Just integrated it via the official integration.

I would open the diagnostics page in the Shelly UI, reboot, HA, and see what the logs on the Shelly show.

That setting only takes effect when the power is restored to the switch.
Rebooting HA should have no effect.

You may want to try “edge” mode instead of “toggle”. Toggle follows the behavior of a physical switch where up is on and down is off. This has a side effect that sometimes the physical switch doesn’t do anything if it is in the wrong position. e.g. Shelly is off, but switch is in the up position. You would need to turn the switch off and then back on for the relay to turn on. Perhaps could be affected by an HA reboot. Not sure

Thanks for the replies. I will try it and then post my experience with the new setting.

Hello,

Did you find a solution to this? I have the same issue. Anytime the Shelly reboots, HA reboots, or my router reboots it opens my garage door. Regardless of any setting (and i have tried them all with it being a button or a switch). I currently have the Shelly plus 1 set as a switch in detached mode. The input is a reed switch to tell home assistant if the garage is open or closed. Any one have any ideas on how to fix this? Its not a home assistant issue its a Shelly issue. Should i try a different relay? Possibly the Shelly plus 1 is just not made to be used as a garage door opener.

I have had the same issue. I solve it when put my Shelly in Detached mode and change setting to Auto off after 1 sec. You can see this video with the exact setting. https://youtu.be/N6_KZbp0ISU?si=R_SXx8rHKYDRSb7a&t=375
