I have a number of different Shelly devices. They have all worked without issues up until (and including) 0.115.6. But since upgrading to 0.116.0 and later the RGBW2 device isn’t recognizrd properly in HA. In 0.115.6 i have 1 device with 13 entities but in 0.116.x I have 1 device and 1 entity (the overpower sensor). I think this might be related to the fact that the RGBW2 has 4 lights/channels, each with their own entities. All the other devices work without issues.
If I downgrade to 0.115.6 the RGBW2 work correctly again.
It was already reported as a bug. Same thing for me.
Thanks - same here
I encourage everyone to use mqtt manual configuration rather than integration which is in initial development state (despite the fact that communication through mqtt is in general better method than polling implemented by the integration)
Interesting maxym, can I ask why you suggest that? Aren’t they both local control?
mqtt is more efficient communication-wise (less data, lower delay) - look polling vs mqtt for more info. It’s also easier to maintain because of independent configurations device-mqtt and HA/mqtt. Such approach provides a lot of flexibility.
Also you get ultimate access to all features the device provides being independent on 3rd parties (ie integration developers).
Thanks for all that
