Shelly RGBW2 with RGB no white LED strip?

Hey everyone, I have an LED strip that has only RGB, no white. How do I use that properly? I’ve wired it according to the docs. 12V, R, G, B. White is unconnected.

In the Shelly console I can’t seem to find a setting that allows for RGB only strips. It only has white only and RGBW.

The behavior of the LED strip integration with Home Assistant seems to expect a white component. I can see this especially when using color temperature. Warm is yellow, cold is completely off.

How do I have to configure all of this to make it run as expected?

Thank you!

You can’t. Well, maybe you could, if you applied some math to map values. The Shelly RBGW either supports RGBW, or 4 white channels.

That is interesting because the wiring diagram clearly shows a mode with only RGB and no white. image

Yes, but then you get what you saw. Note that not all LED stripes are the same. Colour calibration is hard. I’ve found that getting good, dynamic colours out of a strip without a white channel is really hard.
