Shelly uni plus over counting pulses solved

Long story short I was using a switching 12v adapter and was getting a lot, like 100s maybe 1000s, of false pulses a day. I switched to a linear 12v power supply and now get either dead on or with in 10 of other connected pulse meters.

How I got here. I am using a Shelly Uni Plus to read read the water usage in my chicken house, what puts me in a unique position to most I believe is that I have a pulse splitter (not sure of exact term but it takes the pulse from my reed switch on water meter and reproduces it 4 times) and connected to this pulse splitter is a controller’s water meter and a wifi water meter I bought off ebay thas connects to a cloud. Both these meters read with closely, generally with in 10 pulses of each other or less. When I connected my shelly uni plus to this meter it would appear to read correctly with the 2 existing meters but would gain more and more extra pulses as time went on. I thought it was an issue with the reed switch bouncing although I figured the splitter probably debounced it but do not know. I tried things with resistors and capacitors, I ended up running the pulses through an digital in put as described here shelly uni debounce. I am still actually doing that (haven’t had a chance to try with out it wired this way with new power supply) but it was still getting inaccurate pulses unless I made it act as as a push button inversely I believe and then it would be right but 1/2 the correct amount. I had read some where about a noisy power supply causing issues with some other pulse counter and decided to through a linear power supply at it. I did not expect it to work but it did and has been for days. Hope this helps save someone else hours/days of frustration.

I’m now currently searching for how to integrate this into my energy dash board with the same amount of frustration, I know nothing about coding and do everything with the GUI. I believe it may require doing something in the yaml but I don’t even know how to begin to do that. When I figure this out I will try and share this also unless some one sees this and can tell me how to before then (I have asked how in to other posts)
