Shelly Z wave missing Detached Switch mode

Hello everyone.

I wanted to switch from Shellys with wifi to the new ones with Zwave. It has worked well so far.
Nprmaly I have a circuit in the bathroom so that when I press the light switch, it first checks what time it is. And then either the big light comes on or only the mirror illuminates the room.
This is controlled by HA.
But now I can’t switch the output dead on the Z wave Shellys like I can on the others.
Is there a solution to this? Because I can’t imagine that this should no longer work.

Attached pictures of the settings of both Shellys.

Greetings Christoph

nobody there with the same problem?

Same issue. No solution yet. :frowning:

I have the same issue, however, as far as I understand the manual this is not supported by Shelly. (?)
Bad workaround for me is to use two separate devices. One for the button inputs and one for the outputs…

good news: Shelly support confirmed to me via email that detached mode is coming to some Shelly Wave switches next week!

Dear Kasper,

The firmware for the Wave 1 and Wave 1PM are ready, we’re conducting the final tests for the Wave 2PM, after that we will integrate the function to other devices too.

The feature will be available via the FW update if you will find older devices in the shops.

I guess they have longer weeks at Shelly, but I’m still hopeful that we’ll have it before Christmas (Wave 1 PM Mini and Wave 2 PM here).

Today they wrote me that the firmware is available on GitHub!

Dear Kasper,

The firmware will be added to our support portal in the next few days. In the meantime, you can download it from our GitHub repository.

Currently, the firmware versions for the Wave 1, Wave 1PM, and Wave 2PM devices already include the detached mode and the 0.01 kWh reporting resolution. You can find these firmware files in their corresponding folders.

We will continue to release additional firmware updates with the detached mode feature throughout this month.

Now that at least the Wave 2PM have support for detached mode (yay - finally) - does anyone know how to use it? I’ve enabled detached mode for one of the channels, but how can I pick up button presses in Home Assistant? I’ve tried listening to all the received events, but nothing shows up. Do I have to enable MQTT support for Z-Wave JS UI to be able to receive events?

On their Wi-Fi based products I just listen to shelly.click to find the events, but with Z-Wave JS UI?

It doesn’t appear to work yet. I can enable it in the settings but home assistant doesn’t expose any separate sensor entity to use, even after re-interviewing. Hopefully it will be added in one of the next home assistant zwave updates.

The zwave 1pm new firmware has made my device unusable :frowning: - does anyone know how I can use home assistant or ZWAVE JS UI to downgrade to the older one?

Cheers

Stuart

In the OTA tab (in Z-Wave JS UI), there should be a check box for older firmware (show downgrades). If you click it and then the press the “check updates” button, you should be presented with older firmware.

Thanks - where do I see the OTA tab?

Oh! Sorry about the less than great instructions. Click on the Control Panel button on the left side of the Z-Wave JS UI window, then click on the device you’d like to downgrade. And after that you’ll then find “OTA UPDATES” to the left side.

Firmware updated.
No issue concerning stability

There is 2 events in HA linked to this module.
These are central scene 001 and 002.
With key pressed information.

Butbit doesn’t work.
In zwave js ui, theses informations on central scene v3 keep undefined value…

I’ve tried enabling MQTT in Z-Wave JS UI, but I’ve yet to find any information regarding detached mode events. I’ll have a second look (through MQTT Explorer) in a couple of hours and get back if I find anything useful (but so far, it looks like detached mode isn’t really complete).

Have anyone used a Shelly Wave i4? How does it propagate button changes to HA?

The events works for me.
On Wave 2PM, my use case is to have only SW2 in detached mode.
it’s working only if SW1 and SW2 are in detached mode…
I have report this issue to shelly
