Im having difficult figuring out how I need to place the Shelly1PM in between my power and water heater.
Below is how it currently is and how far I got on the schematic with the Shelly1PM in between. Can someone finish it for me?
The O of the Shelly goes to the heater hot.
That said, not sure if doing this is such a great idea. Are you sure your heater uses less than 16A ? I would use a contactor between Shelly and heater tbh. Because that Shelly is going to heat up a lot during operation (due to the current measuring shunt).
What size is the breaker for this presumably electric water heater?

If you are in the US or Canada, I would also guess that the water heater is 240v line to line unless it is an under counter. If full size, then you are looking at 30 to 40 amps. This might be much simpler if you use a shelly EM with 50 amp split core transformer.
