Shit Pit Monitoring (actually septic tank monitoring) With an EPTTECH Smart TLC 2326-WF-S Solar Water Level Monitor in HA?

Hi all,

I am looking for a remote water level monitor, for our septic tank.

I know, it’s so medieval, but still we are living on the edge of the second-largest town in our country, but obviously canalization didn’t make it to some of the more remote buildings …

To spare myself to open the cover every now and then, to know when to call the shit pit emptier guys, I’d really like to mount a monitoring solution to the reservoir.

On AliExpress I stumbled over this, which looks promising: https://www.eptsensors.com/products/epttech-smart-tlc-2326-wf-s-solar-energy-tuya-smart-life-mobile-app-wireless-wifi-remote-ultrasonic-real-time-tank-level-monitor-with-solar-panel

Has anybody experience with integrating it in Home Assistant?

Thanks

Did you try it? I’m looking for a solution to monitoring out water tanks

Nope, ignored most of my HA stuff for months now. It’s such a time sink, and life has other nice things to offer. Maybe when it gets colder and darker outside again.

Other models from Epitech are working with zigbee2mqtt (with an external converter).

I just installed it yesterday, it’s working. But I’d like to get the one with the solar panel (or better, know if the solar panel with the wifi one would work with the zigbee version… don’t see why not but hey, what do I know !)

Are there any tricks to getting accurate readings. I have a 3ft riser on my tank and this device picks up the edge of the riser so I’m always at 3ft level. I have tested the device outside the tank and seems accurate. Any help would be appreciated or if anyone has had success with a 3ft riser and maybe my device is bad
