Shortcut To Send Sleep Cycle App Alarm To HA

Hi. I’m trying to set up a wake up sunrise light. I’ve seen loads of blueprints and examples of getting the stock iOS alarm to send to HA. However, I use the Sleep Cycle app as my smart alarm. Has anyone created a shortcut to send that alarm time to HA?

I don’t fully understand how to get the light to trigger in HA 15 minutes before my alarm time, either, but that’s probably for a separate topic.

And yes, I know Sleep Cycle has a Hue integration. But I don’t particularly like how it works, and it’s not customizable.

Hey, any way you have made this work? I’m looking to do something similar. I managed to turn on my bedroom lights (ikea zigbee bulbs) when I turn off my sleep cycle alarm in the morning but I wish I could do something more gradual as soon as the alarm starts going off.

I have both the sleep schedule synced and an automation for 15 min prior.

  1. Create an input date time helper called whatever (mines iosalarm)
  2. Create an platform template sensor that takes 15 min off this time

  1. Shortcuts

set up this shortcut ensure its linked to your entity ID and correct HASS instance etc.

  1. Set up 2 automations to trigger this - 1. at 6/7/8pm every day whatever you chose. 2. every time you close the clock app (this presumes you’re making an edit)

  2. your ‘iosalarm’ entity will be the next sleep alarm time, your minus 15 min entity can be used to trigger ‘wake up routines’ such as lights blinds etc.
