Show who is coming to work or not?

As a enthousiast home use of home assistant, i was thinking of HA for a project.
We want to know in one overview who is coming into the office and who isn’t (and for how long)
Yes, we could make a google spreadsheet, but it will never be as slick as a HA dashboard.
Plus i can optionally auto set ‘in office’ when there phone connects to the wifi, and in the future do so much more.
would it be possible?

To start off with, I very much doubt that you are allowed to actively track people / employees, check GDPR. You could use the work-calendars and integrate that in HA?

thats true, tracking a phone should be opt in, but calendars shows when you have an appointment, not if you (want) to work in the office,
see it like those old fashion slider boards with in office our out office slider but then with more options

From my personal work experience, you require people to indicate to come to work. I doubt you can force/ask the to comply with yet-another-tool as HA, so my suggestion would be to ask them to register a calendar entry as this is what they already used to … Anything else is another hurdle and you want your people to have a win-win situation (not sure if this is a win-win as the details fail).
Whether or not you can ask staff to report on/offsite work differs highly per country so I cannot judge your options but whatever legal reason you may have, if staff sees no gain…results will be meager.

True, i will look into simply place a calendar entry first, and look into how i can present that data nicely.
