Siemens coffee maker via Home Connect Alt to Apple Home?

Hi all,

I used to use the Home Connect integration that comes with HA to expose the power switch and the Latte macchiato switch of our Siemens EQ.9 coffee maker to Apple Home. That way I could say „Hey Siri, coffee maker on“ and „Hey Siri, Latte macchiato“.

That integration, however, has its drawback, too, and I was amazed when I found about the „Home Connect alt“ alternative integration which I installed successfully from HACS.

However, this integration doesn‘t offer a simple power on/off switch but instead a select option (in the GUI it‘s a drop down menu) for the power state. When I expose this to Apple Home I get two switches in the Home app and can‘t figure out which one does what. One seems to mimic a „Standby“ status but it doesn‘t seem to be sufficient to put that from off (=Standby mode) to on to power the coffee maker on. So the other switch seem to be the real power state but, again, it‘s not working as expected. The two switches seem to be dependant on each other.

So, long story short: What would be the most elegant way to expose just a single switch to Apple Home that swithes the coffee maker on and off? I haven‘t experimented with scripts in HA, yet. Maybe that‘s the way to go? Or a scene? Or „just“ some clever service call?

Any help much appreciated! :hugs:

(And the next queastion would be, of course: How can I make a simple „Latte macchiato“ switch for Apple Home? Because that‘s also different in the Home Connect alt integration …) :man_shrugging:

Thanks so much, guys!
Stefan.

Maybe you have a tip for me, @ekutner? :flushed:
