I have a ceiling air filter in my house which I want to control with a very basic on/off switch, kind of like those fibaro nano relays that you put inside a light switch.
It’s a UK house, so from my lighting wiring ring, I currently have a Live, Neutral and Earth into a Wago box, and then the ceiling air filter has two wirings going to the live and neutral via a 1amp fuse.
What’s the best z wave switch that I can add in between the Lighting ring, and the 1amp fuse so that I can turn the filter on and off with automation?
I also want to do the same with my bathroom extractor fan which is on the same lighting ring, and I want to be able to turn that on and off through automation too.
Yes, I bought a coupe of Shelley dimmers: One to pull apart to check the quality of the components and board layout etc. And the other to run as a burn in/out unit for assessing durability and what happens during periods of over load etc.
After opening the unit and taking a look at the internal construction I binned both. There’s no way I would take a punt on these and pick a fight with an insurance company.
I’ve now gone down the route of the Finder dimmers which are built to European standards. And easy enough to pair with an esp8266 to add wifi capability as required.
