I’m trying to add the SimpliSafe integration to a fresh Home Assistant install on HA Green. I’ve followed the integration docs and the community write-ups about grabbing the com.simplisafe.mobile://…?code= value from the redirect, but I can’t get the authorization code to show up in any browser. I saw a thread from late 2024 with the same problem, and it looks like it never got resolved, so I’m hoping someone has found a way through since then.
My SimpliSafe account has MFA turned on (text message, passkey), and I can log in to the SimpliSafe web app and phone app without trouble. Here’s what I’ve tried:
- Chrome, already logged in to SimpliSafe. Clicking the “here” link in the HA dialog lands on a blank page. With DevTools open (Console and Network, Preserve log on), I couldn’t find anything containing
code=. - Chrome incognito. I can log in, but then I get the “Use Fingerprint or Face Recognition to Login” screen stuck on “Awaiting device confirmation.” I approved the passkey on my phone and it kept spinning. The Continue button looks clickable but does nothing.
- “Try another method.” This sends me to a troubleshooting page that says to enable cookies. Cookies are enabled, and I explicitly allowed
simplisafe.com. On a separate attempt I did get the text-message code, but with the code typed in by hand, the Continue button stayed disabled. I tried retyping it, resending it, and logging out and starting over, with the same result. - Safari. This got further. I logged in with the text code and reached a “Log In Faster on This Device” (passkey enrollment) screen, with an alert saying “Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid.” I assume that’s the failed
com.simplisafe.mobile://redirect. But Web Inspector’s Network tab only showed the SimpliSafe login pages (mfa-sms-challengeandmfa-webauthn-platform-enrollment), plus one failed request towebapp.simplisafe.comthat I couldn’t turn into a code. I didn’t see a 302 or anycallback?code=request.
My guess is that SimpliSafe’s login has changed since the integration docs were written. The passkey/device-confirmation step and the “Log In Faster” enrollment page seem to interrupt the old flow, so the redirect with the code either doesn’t happen or isn’t visible. I’m not sure whether that’s right.
A few questions:
- Has anyone successfully added SimpliSafe recently (2026)? If so, which browser and steps worked for you?
- Is there a different way to get the code, or an alternative to the core integration that doesn’t depend on this login flow?
