SkyConnect + Thread + HomeKit devices going unresponsive

Hi folks!

Background: I’ve got HAOS running, everything updated to latest versions, with a SkyConnect USB stick flashed for Thread capabilities (Multiprotocol installed, etc.). I use HomeKit as a front-end for ease of family use as well as for thread compatibility.

My SkyConnect stick with Thread & Matter seems to be working great with an Eve Energy plug and an Eve Motion Sensor – both updated to Matter firmware. The devices were added first to HomeKit then put into pairing mode and added to HA via “Add Matter Device.” Basically both HA and HomeKit can control them independently. Terrific.

However, when I’ve tried to add my Eve Switches to HA, they’ve tended to go offline and become unresponsive to HA and HomeKit after a matter of hours. (I added them by first adding to HomeKit, then deleting from Home App and then adding via HomeKit Controller in HA. This process seemed to go normally.) When I first add them, they appear to be connected via Thread, and they work for a while, but then they disconnect. If I cycle power on them and in HA, they come back for a while, but nothing consistent. Eve has yet to release Matter firmware for their thread-capable switches, so I can’t go that direction yet, although obviously it would be preferable.

So I guess what I’m asking is: has anyone had luck getting stability with HomeKit Thread devices connecting to HA via HomeKit controller or otherwise? If so, how do you have it set up? I’m definitely unable to unite my thread networks, so there’s an Apple one and a SkyConnect one both, but my understanding is that that is normal right now also.
