SleepIQ integration questions

Hello, hopefully someone with a Sleep Number bed and a FlexFix 3 base can answer these questions for me.

  1. Can the HA integration control both the mattress and the base? (adjust sleep number and also control position of base?)

  2. Can you just use the Flex Fit 3 base by itself with a different mattress and still have HA integration control of the positions?

  3. Bonus Q: I see mixed reviews of the Flex Fit 3 as either having massage vibration and some say it doesn’t have it… Does it do massages? Only reason I ask is because I could then set a vibrating alarm in the morning so I don’t wake up my spouse.

Thanks

Checking again on the off-chance that someone has this setup and can speak to it.

Just wondering if you had any luck in creating automations based on your sleepiq integration to control the bed/mattress? I tried for a bit this past weekend, but never got anything working via an automation.

No, I have not done anything further with this, sorry.

  1. Yes. I have the base and the integration allows me to adjust the bed pressure and base head and foot positions. I can also turn on/off the under bed light and the privacy mode. I don’t have the foot warming feature and can’t tell you if that is accessible.
  2. You can, but the mattress might slide off when changing the base positions. Select Comfort makes a piece that attaches to the foot of the bed to prevent the sliding.
  3. I don’t see any reference to massage, just heating. I find that the base changing positions will wake me, though.

I have an automation that turns on Privacy mode and inflates the mattress during the day. Reverse at night.

I have an I-8 series bed and can control most of the features, however I do think there are issues with the integration. For example I can raise or lower the head on both side, but can only adjust one side at the foot. The under bed light works as advertised via the integration, but the foot warmer is not an option. Privacy mode is also unavailable. All controls for firmness work fine, so overall the integration does what I need it to. Most useful for me is the presence detection of who is in bed, so I can start morning routines based on who get up first. Hopefully this lends a little more insight as to the functions available.
