Slow copy of a backup to a local NAS storage volume

I have a gigabit network and gigabit Ethernet. My individual HA backup tar files are around 380 megabits each. My NAS server that I am using for backups is 75 megs a sec on a BAD day an 110+ on a good one.

The time it takes to copy the HA backup to my NAS is almost 300 sec or more. I know it is only a HA green but still this feels really slow. The copy time to the HA cloud is about the same as the time to the local NAS.

Any thoughts on this?

Are you certain the green is connected with 1 gigabit? Check your router or switch to see what it reports. Try changing out the cable, it could be faulty.

You can also use iperf3 as a test. If you can get ~800mb/s from HA → a local iperf3 server, preferably on your nas… then the issue is further up the stack like cifs/nfs.
