Smart Baby Monitor for twins

Hi all,

I’m a father of one waiting 2 others (twins) in few months.

Till now I used a “dumb” smart monitor to check sleep of my princess but I noticed that this device is made to be place under one crib ( obviously) so I was checking for alternatives to cover the other 2 cribs that will need an watch.

Any suggestion?

I checked this post Smart Baby Monitor - Home Assistant and also this diy solution FruitNanny but RPI cost are incredibly high right now so maybe there is another commercial solution …

thank you in advance

You could buy 2 Reolink E1s (zoom or plus).

Enjoy the twins, most fun is when one runs left and the other right😂

Got a Reolink in my parents shed for securirty, SD card for storage and works with reolink app for all that stuff, but I have the feed into HA as its the only app they need.

Using the ‘‘generic camera’’ integration in homeassistant with the following url * sensitive parts

rtsp://admin:***@192.168.86.:554//h264Preview_01_main

the admin:password is what you set when adding camera to the reolink app, then change the ip address to what it grabs ands set it statically in router.

sounds like video surveilance - you could look at https://frigate.video/

Okay… I’ll say it…
“As long as he doesn’t try to use facial recognition…”

Hahahaahaa… ugh.
(Sorry, it was the first thing that jumped into my mind when I read the thread title.)

I already have frigate but I’m using it for security reason.

For this topic it’s more important to have audio and if I remember right frigate doesn’t have this functionality.

It would be great if face recognition would help me recognize them .
