Interested in the same. I found the Leviton Load Center and SPAN smart home panels, but those require replacing the entire panel to use them, which is very expensive. I know that Enphase uses Eaton smart breakers in their smart switch, but not sure if these can be dropped into an existing panel.
Iām going to be installing Eaton BREMs in my home/garage over the next few months, and will then start working on an integration for Home Assistant using the ālocal communicationsā API that they offer. Stay tuned, I guess?
Wow thats great! I would absolutely love that =)
Still having a long conversation with Eaton about the capabilities of the BREM breakers. Iām not thrilled that the units are not available with GFCI, AFCI, or CAFCI built-in, as that means if I replace such a breaker with a BREM Iāve got to add on the necessary protection downstream from it.
Also, itās not clear yet whether their dual-pole (240V) breakers are HACR-rated: if they are not, I canāt use them for my heat pumps and hybrid water heater, which are the largest consumers I have and that would defeat the purpose of installing the BREMs in the first place. Still, waiting for answers from their tech team.
Just an FYI: No response yet from Eaton about the last two questions, and the BREM products seem to be āout of stockā everywhere, so this project will probably not happen.
This is something Iām looking into also. I have the enphase controller and seeing what they are using for āload sheddingā, it got me wondering if I could convert everything to something like that.
Also interested in this, if someone comes up with a solution for existing Siemens panels especially. It looked like these would work with that, if they are available and certified.
Thanks for your replies! I still did not find a solution for thisā¦
