Smart Doorbell DIY project based on ESP32 (YouTube Video)

Yes. Anyone can create an instructable and share it. Hack-a-day would be another one worth submitting to.

Super, thanks for the information.

Are you planning to do it yourself? Great!
Where do you outsource the PCB production?

I’we just made a video about how my Smart Doorbell works
Check it out!

If you could include an LED to improve night time shots, I would buy you immediately one of these right away!

Great idea for upgrade in the second version

And support for AA Ni-MH or Lithium batteries.

I had a plan to use batteries  There is even space for a battery box on the PCB.

But it turned out that WIFI, Relay, and a quite delay when waking from Deep Sleep, successfully dissuaded me from this idea;)

I’m aware that could be different levels of deepsleep.

Maybe using some L-ion batteries, with higher capacity output may hold longer the ESP32. I have one Xiaomi doorbel and I forgot the last time I recharged the 3 Ni-MH batteries inside of it. Still going.

It uses 6 AA batteries. they say it lasts up to 6 months, it’s true?
How long is the delay?

It lasts more than 6 months, for my use case.

The delay is acceptable, since it’s connected to the mainland Chinese cloud, not locally controlled (unfortunately).
