Hi all, I keep seeing notifications about updates the Smart IR component, but there seems to be a better way to update, rather than downloading the component from Git and copying the folder to my HA installation.
“A new version (1.7.1) is available that is compatible with your system. Call the smartir.update_component service to update the component.”
How do I go about calling this update_component service?
developer tools > services
scroll to smartir.update_component
call service
In Home Assistant web interface look for the left sidebar menu and in the bottom left corner click on the first icon (looks like a remote) which is called ‘Services’. In the list look fot the smartir.update_component service and click on the Call Service button.
Wow, thanks, that was way too simple
You could even put the service as an entity on your system view so you don’t have to dig for it every time.
Hi, I have the same problem but I cant’ see this option with my HA 2025.1.0, can someone help me? thanks.
Developer tools / Actions (On the Top) / Action - choose “SmartIR: update_component” then PERFORM ACTION
Then restart HA.
