Smart Life update fails - am I missing something?

I’ve been using the SmartLife integration and have two dozen devices attached. The integration is already installed (via HACS) and works fine. All devices and entities are working.

The issue is the update won’t install: “Failed to call service update/install. The version c93236b for this integration can not be used with HACS.”

I anybody familiar with this problem and able to suggest how I should proceed?
Do I need to uninstall the integration and reinstall from a different place?

Thank you much.

Hi,
same here…
Any updates?
Thanks,
Luca

Hello,
got it from github page:
:warning: This project has now officially been integrated into the Home Assistant official project core repository, corresponding to version 2024.2. This project will no longer continue to iterate. Subsequent iterations and support will be carried out under the Home Assistant official project. If you have any questions, please communicate at Issues · home-assistant/core · GitHub. Thank you.

Basically remove integration via HACS, you can use official Tuya Cloud, enrollment via SmartLife QR is now available.

Hoping you folks might be able to help with a similar problem. It seems that overnight my 33 smartlife integration devices stopped working. When I open the smartlife integration it says, “Failed to setup”, with an explanation point. Nothing helps when I click “reload” the integration. Suggestions? How do I reauthenticate with smartlife? Was there a change to HA regarding this integration. I just migrated from the Tuya IOT/cloud to the smartlife integration a few weeks ago.

I know this post is older, but I have this problem almost every time I do an update. What I need to do is go on the Smart life button and add a new Hub then punch the number in from the App on your phone and scan the code on the screen with the button on the top of the app. This will add back all your devices and you can delete the old connection you had.

I have to do the same as you describe, is this a normal behaviour? Is there another workaround to have the tuya/smartlife entities into HA? Even after a simple reboot of HA the Smartlife HUB is gone.

The Tuya integration (works with the smartlife app too)

Do you have some additional info please? Do you mean the LocalTuya integration or another integration?

Thanks a lot, after adding the tuya v2 integration it asks for Acces ID + secret ID and I have used them from my Tuya iot platform but then username and password I used too but it won’t connect

Is is the one you use to login to the app.

You can find this code in the Smart Life app or Tuya Smart app in Settings > Account and Security screen, and enter the code shown on the User Code field. The user code is case sensitive, please be sure to enter it exactly as shown in the app.

I have this problem constantly. Lately it seems like it’s getting worse. After re-adding the “hub”, it functions for as little as a day or two, then requires me to re-add the hub.

How often does it happen to you?

Same here.

Update: I determined that for me the problem was likely that I had some devices on SmartLife and some on TuyaSmart. I deleted everything attached in TuyaSmart, attached them all in SmartLife, deleted the Tuya integration, and the problem went away completely.

Same issue here, I also have deleted the smartlife integration completely, re-added it and added my hub and the it works for a little while, everytime I restart HA or updated HA which forces a restart or updated other integrations which forces a restart I have to re-add the Smartlife HUB.
Anyone having a workaround or solution for this besides leaving Smartlife?

I have same issue. It’s working till has restart.
